Staff Product Manager, PlatformBuilt is hiring a Staff Product Manager for our Platform team. The workflows that govern the movement of capital across lenders, developers, contractors, and subcontractors share a common structure - and the Platform team owns the foundations that make all of them work. That means shared components like Approvals and Custom Workflows; core technical services like authentication and authorization, files, comments, and notifications; and the external and internal API ecosystem that connects it all. The Platform team is also responsible for service reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. In short: Platform owns the underpinnings that enable Built's applications to scale, evolve, and move fast.
As the Staff Product Manager for the Platform team, you'll own clear OKRs around service adoption, MAU for common components, and service reliability. You'll work backwards from those outcomes to roadmap to execution, partnering with a world-class Platform engineering team. You'll collaborate deeply with application teams, pattern-match their needs into platform investments, and work with GTM to ensure what you build gets adopted and loved - by internal teams and external customers alike.
The Staff PM is a senior IC and player-coach within the product organization. You own critical or complex product areas, drive zero-to-one efforts, and contribute meaningfully to how the PM team operates. You bring substantial experience, strong technical acumen, and the ability to influence peers and leadership through clarity, rigor, and results.
What You'll Do - Own definition, execution, and delivery for your product area - writing high-quality PRDs, grooming backlogs, and planning sprints with the rigor and clarity that enable high-velocity engineering teams.
- Collaborate deeply with application teams to understand their needs, and exhibit strong pattern-matching to translate those into a prioritized platform roadmap.
- Partner with the Engineering Director for Platform to understand requirements around scale, reliability, and developer productivity - and sequence those investments thoughtfully on the quarterly plan.
- Work tirelessly to understand customers deeply - lenders, portfolio managers, owners, developers, and contractors - identifying problems and inventing solutions they may not yet be able to envision for themselves.
- Define success metrics and OKRs for the Platform team; prioritize the roadmap ruthlessly based on your success definition and the evidence in front of you.
- Drive zero-to-one product efforts from initial customer discovery through design, delivery, and iteration - navigating ambiguity with judgment rather than waiting for certainty.
- Present roadmaps, delivery plans, and product demos in internal and customer-facing forums with the clarity and conviction that earns executive and customer trust.
- Partner with GTM teams on go-to-market strategy and ensure strong adoption of launched capabilities, both for Platform-owned features and dependent features built by application teams.
- Provide feedback on engineering designs and champion customer needs while driving hard implementation-level trade-offs.
- Bring best practices that enhance collaboration between Platform and Application teams, improve decision-making velocity, and raise the PM team's overall quality bar.
What You'll Bring - 6-10 years of experience in product management at growth-stage or scaling technology companies.
- 4+ years managing platform teams and technical products as a Product Manager.
- Strong technical aptitude - comfortable engaging with engineers on architectural trade-offs, understanding technical designs, and contributing meaningfully to feasibility discussions.
- Proven expertise in zero-to-one product building, from initial customer discovery through design and delivery - with a track record of shipped products that created measurable value.
- Experienced in running strong PDLC practices across complex, multi-team environments.
- A strong cross-functional partner who influences through candor and builds trust through diligence - you earn influence rather than relying on authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with experience presenting to senior leadership and, where relevant, enterprise customers.
- Deep experience in B2B SaaS product development and enterprise sales cycles; construction finance or fintech domain experience is a meaningful differentiator.
What Success Looks Like at Six Months - You are the recognized product authority for your area - engineering, design, and business leadership come to you on the hardest questions, and your roadmap decisions reflect genuine strategic judgment.
- You have driven at least one significant product initiative from zero to launched, with measurable customer or business impact you can articulate clearly.
- You are contributing to PM team practices - improving how discovery happens, how PRDs are written, or how launches are structured - in ways the broader team has adopted.
- Cross-functional partners describe working with you as fast, clear, and high-trust.
AI & Technology Expectations - Leverage AI tools to enhance the productivity, quality, and speed of your work.
- Use AI to support drafting, analysis, summarization, and problem-solving across your role.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort through automation and AI.
- Apply AI to sharpen decision-making and strengthen strategic insights.
- Share effective AI use cases and best practices with your team.
