About the Job

As a Staff Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of our financial supply chain platform, helping contractors buy materials, manage inventory, control job costs, and pay vendors with greater accuracy and efficiency. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at the intersection of field operations, finance, and engineering, where your decisions will influence ARR growth, retention, customer trust, and BuildOps' position as the financial operating system for the trades.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a strategic, customer-facing environment and is energized by solving deeply operational problems across procurement, inventory, and ERP-connected workflows.
What You'll Do
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Procurement and Inventory, two of the most mission-critical workflows for commercial contractors.
  • Lead the next generation of how contractors buy, manage, and consume materials across jobsites, warehouses, trucks, and branches.
  • Build products that help contractors understand what materials they need, where inventory exists, what has been committed to jobs, what has been consumed, and how material costs impact profitability in real time.
  • Define and evolve core workflows across material requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, receiving, inventory costing, truck stock, warehouse operations, transfers, adjustments, and job-level material consumption.
  • Create a contractor-grade inventory system that reduces stockouts, prevents overbuying, improves purchasing control, and gives operators and finance teams trusted visibility into material movement and cost.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, ERP platforms, and internal teams to connect procurement and inventory workflows into the broader BuildOps operating system.
  • Apply AI and automation to remove manual work from purchasing, receiving, item normalization, invoice matching, approvals, and exception resolution.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Experience, Sales, Implementation, and Finance to ship products that are deeply operational, easy to adopt, and trusted by contractors running complex field operations.
  • Develop and coach product managers on discovery, product quality, crisp written thinking, customer-backed roadmaps, and measurable business outcomes.
What We Look For
  • 5+ years of product management experience with direct ownership of procurement, supply chain, inventory, accounts payable, or ERP-adjacent products in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Deep working knowledge of purchase orders, inventory management, accounts payable, and how these workflows connect to job costing, cost controls, and general ledger systems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with one or more ERP or accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Spectrum, Vista, Acumatica, ComputerEase, or similar systems.
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, data models, and integration architecture, with the ability to make credible product decisions alongside engineering and maintain a high bar for integration quality.
  • Experience partnering with third-party platforms, ERP systems, suppliers, or embedded finance providers to extend product value beyond what can be built in-house.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in invoice automation, procurement workflows, item normalization, demand planning, or pricing optimization, along with sound judgment on when to build, buy, or partner.
Who You Are
  • A strategic thinker with a bias for action and strong product judgment.
  • Someone who holds a high standard for operational and financial accuracy.
  • Genuinely curious about how the trades industry works and motivated by solving complex workflow problems for contractors.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across product, engineering, finance, customer-facing teams, and external partners.
  • A leader who can coach other product managers and raise the quality of discovery, thinking, and execution across the team.
  • Energized by high-growth environments and ambitious product challenges.
Compensation
  • Toronto: 172,000.00 - 215,000.00 CAD base salary + bonus opportunity
  • Raleigh: $190,000.00 - $234,000.00 base salary + bonus opportunity
  • LA/SF: $197,000.00 - $246,000.00 base salary + bonus opportunity
