About the Role

Hinge Health values design as a strategic partner in shaping product direction and member experience. As a Staff Product Designer on the Outcomes Pod, you will focus on helping people understand, log, and act on their progress over time. At the Staff level, you will lead large ambiguous problem spaces, shape product vision and strategy with partners, and align senior leaders around a clear design point of view. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and other cross-functional teammates to turn complex, data-rich, emotionally sensitive moments into simple and motivating experiences. We are looking for a designer with strong UI/UX craft, deep product thinking, and the ability to simplify complex clinical data into comprehensible member-facing insights. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to shape how Hinge Health helps members see progress, stay engaged, and build confidence in their care journey.

What You'll Accomplish
  • Lead the design vision and strategy for the Outcomes pod's member-facing experiences, with primary focus on the Progress tab, pain logging, and the broader story members see about their improvement over time.
  • Improve how and when members share pain data and create useful feedback loops.
  • Translate complex clinical and behavioral data into simple, motivating interfaces that help members understand trends, next best actions, and the value of staying engaged.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data to define hypotheses, run experiments, and use qualitative and quantitative signals to improve member experience and outcomes.
  • Raise the quality bar across the pod by creating frameworks, patterns, and design principles that make the work more coherent and scalable over time.
  • Influence adjacent teams when shared surfaces, shared metrics, or shared behaviors affect outcomes-related experiences.
  • Champion accessibility, clarity, and product quality so members with different needs, contexts, and motivation levels can succeed.

Basic Qualifications
  • A standout and up-to-date portfolio demonstrating high-impact product work, leadership on complex initiatives, and measurable outcomes.
  • 10+ years of product design experience, including close partnership with product and engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction, Industrial, Product, or Service Design,
    Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in interaction and visual design, with a track record of advancing craft quality across teams.
  • Experience leading ambiguous problem spaces, setting vision, and defining design strategy across products or platforms.
  • Strong fluency in data-informed design, including forming hypotheses, partnering on experiments, facilitating research, and translating insights into action.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to align cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders around design direction.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring other designers and elevating the quality and impact of team output.
  • Strong prototyping and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to create cohesive experiences across flows, components, and product surfaces.Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing progress tracking, dashboards, data visualization, or other data-rich product experiences.
  • Experience simplifying complex systems into intuitive consumer-facing experiences, especially in health, wellness, or habit-forming product spaces.
  • Proven facilitation skills and comfort leading leadership conversations on large,ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience contributing to or shaping design systems that scale quality and consistency across products.
  • Curiosity about emerging AI tools and workflows, and thoughtful judgment about where they can improve design quality or speed.
  • Passion for helping people live healthier lives through thoughtful design and technology.
