Description

We are looking for highly driven employee-owners with excellent client interaction skills who can perform process design efforts for water or wastewater projects in either municipal or industrial settings. In this position, you will perform process design on projects ranging from treatment and conveyance systems to industrial water/wastewater treatment and utility systems.
  • Perform and support process design and execution of municipal or industrial water and/or wastewater treatment projects, depending on background and project needs.
  • Develop and apply technical approaches for treatment systems and facility processes.
  • Execute day-to-day process engineering tasks, project planning, and management of scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop project objectives and performance goals; communicate technical information to clients as needed.
  • Support client development, proposal preparation, technical presentations, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to growth within the Regional and National Water Practice.
  • Organize and communicate project technical needs to department management; mentor junior staff as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support for design-build project deliveries in collaboration with Burns & McDonnell's Construction/Design-Build group.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of process engineering experience required, consulting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of process engineering experience required, consulting experience preferred.
  • Master Degree in Chemical Engineering and 2 years of process engineering experience required, consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience with water or wastewater process engineering, including treatment systems, plant facilities, or industrial water utilities preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong computer skills include process simulation software (i.e. Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI).
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
