Job Description We're looking for Staff Pharmacists who are driven to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and accuracy of medication use within a hospital setting. In this role, you'll evaluate medication orders, participate in the preparation and distribution of medications-including chemotherapy and infusions-and provide guidance to patients and healthcare staff.
You'll also take a leadership role during urgent situations and help enforce hospital pharmacy policies in compliance with regulatory standards. We welcome applicants who are reliable, quick learners with sound clinical judgment and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities - Evaluate inpatient medication orders for appropriateness and safety
- Prepare, compound, label, and dispense medications, including IVs and chemotherapy
- Provide clear medication guidance to staff and patients
- Respond to emergencies and support clinical teams with medication decisions
- Follow state, federal, and hospital pharmacy policies and procedures
Collaborative Teamwork This role requires active participation in a collaborative healthcare environment, working with nurses, providers, and fellow pharmacists to support safe, effective patient care.
Qualifications - Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy
- Current California pharmacist license
- One year of recent hospital experience or recent graduate (within 2 years) from accredited program
- Familiarity with IV admixtures, drug dosing, pharmacology, and toxicology
- Knowledge of hazardous medication handling, including chemotherapy
- Ability to manage time and respond effectively in high-pressure situations
- Willingness and ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Strong team player with clear communication skills
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language
- Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community
