RESPONSIBILITIES:- Fills prescription orders for all medicinal agents; oral, topical, parenteral, etc.
- Determines prescription assignment for dosage, drug choice, administration, and possible reactions/interactions
- Supervises technicians in prescription data entry, packing and compounding medications, label and card preparation and assists when necessary.
- Verifies finished work of all employees who are not pharmacists.
- Directs timely delivery of medications and supplies to the facilities.
- Answers drug related questions and concerns and assists with problem solving for personnel, nursing staff, and patient families in area of expertise.
- May assist Pharmacy Director with special projects as needed and assumes responsibility in his/her absence.
- Rotates on-call duty during off hours.
- Compounds prescriptions as needed.
- Assists business office with billing problems.
- May consult nursing facilities according to state and federal regulations when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy
- Registered pharmacist licensed in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
- Sitting, Standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity. Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
