Role SummaryWe are seeking a self-motivated, and driven innovator who is willing to push the boundaries to build state-of-the-art Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for automotive applications. This individual will be responsible for high-speed or power PCB design for ECUs, including critical systems such as zonals, infotainment, Vehicle-Access, and ADAS systems. The role requires the candidate to be well-versed with PCB layout design, PI-SI, Power, and high-speed signal routing. This position is highly cross-functional and may include occasional travel.
Responsibilities- PCB Design - Design and implement high-speed and mixed-signal PCB layout designs to automotive standards. Drive and own PCB designs for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), BMS (Battery Management Systems), Body systems, and Infotainment Systems. These systems will include HDI (High-Density Interconnect) design practices, high-speed (DDR4, PCIe, CSI, LVDS), HV, and Mixed-Signal design. Improve package designs by addressing space-constraint challenges while balancing performance trade-offs. Build and maintain our component library and be responsible for its integrity.
- Manufacturing - Improve and optimize durability and performance for automotive designs. Work with our contract manufacturer to develop our design rules for manufacturing and implement DFM feedback, ensuring our designs are manufacturable and manufactured to a high standard.
- Process Development - Contribute to overall process and workflow development between engineering and design. You will be responsible for configuring our ECAD tool to ensure they align with the overall Rivian VW technology design and release process.
