About the Role:

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Modular Data Center Electrical Engineer to support electrical design and continuous innovation of Crusoe Spark, our turnkey, prefabricated modular AI factory.

The role is on the Crusoe Electrical Engineering team and will be responsible for electrical design for Crusoe Spark. The role will partner with Crusoe Industries, Research and Development, Construction, and Customers.

This position requires an electrical professional who thrives at the intersection of facility engineering and product design. You will push the norms of traditional data center design to solve the unique challenges of edge deployments - while integrating diverse and renewable power sources.

The role is in-office and must be located in Denver. Travel will vary, but is anticipated to be 10-20%

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Owner of electrical design and optimizations for Crusoe Spark
  • Support to the Research and Development team as new technologies are explored
  • Standardization and templating of design blocks for modular electrical systems
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert during customer meetings, translating complex requirements into actionable modular design strategies.
  • Key support and stakeholder to Crusoe Industries - who manufactures Crusoe Spark
  • Cross-Functional Support: Pivot dynamically to support the broader design engineering group on fast-track projects, value engineering exercises, or unexpected scope changes.
  • Research and test new, cutting-edge electrical technologies to incorporate into future prefab design iterations.
  • Electrical design road map owner for Crusoe Spark in partnership with R&D


What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in prefabricated building electrical design and application
  • Experience designing and iterating for modular data centers. Emphasis on Electrical and compute rack design.
  • Product Management experience supporting a product road map and driving improvements via continuous improvement
  • Field application experience installing and commissioning modular assets
  • High adaptability and the ability to manage ambiguity, smoothly shifting focus between high-level customer discussions and granular engineering templating.
  • Deep understanding of how AI compute loads impact power distribution, from the utility transformer down to the server rack.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate highly technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills to conduct rapid feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of $168,000 - $192,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
