THE WORK
**Technical Leadership**
- Lead small-to-medium engineering teams; assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure deliverables meet schedule and quality goals.
- Conduct peer, design, and failure reviews (DFMEA, FRB, DFX) and provide constructive feedback.
**Design & Analysis**
- Produce and maintain 3-D CAD models and associated drawings for mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
- Perform static, thermal, and vibration analyses; validate results against performance requirements.
**Manufacturing Support**
- Apply standard engineering practices to resolve production issues in component fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Lead root-cause investigations and develop corrective-action plans; track implementation and effectiveness.
**Research & Innovation**
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies for future torpedo programs; develop proof-of-concept studies.
**Customer & Stakeholder Interaction**
- Serve as the primary technical interface with Navy customers, suppliers, and senior Lockheed Martin leadership.
- Prepare and present status briefings, technical reports, and risk assessments.
**Mentorship**
- Provide technical guidance and career-development support to junior engineers and interns.
**Program Administration**
- Maintain configuration control, documentation, and compliance with program standards.
- Contribute to schedule and cost tracking within the mechanical engineering organization.
WHO YOU ARE
- A licensed or graduate-level Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design, analysis, and manufacturing.
- Proven leader who can drive multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Skilled in 3-D CAD (e.g., Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks), FEA, thermal and vibration analysis tools.
- Experienced in root-cause problem solving, DFMEA/FRACAS processes, and configuration management.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting technical information to customers and senior leadership.
- Willing to work on-site in Syracuse, NY, with up to 10 % travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or test events.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably in defense, naval, or maritime systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing complex projects.
• Proficient in commercial CAD tools,(e.g., {PTC CREP. Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Mechanical analysis capability (finite element, thermal, vibration).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, testing).
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and DFMEA/FRB.
• Excellent oral and written communication; proven ability to brief senior leadership and interact with customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance as required for program work.
Desired skills
• Experience with electronic systems integration (warhead or guidance electronics).
• Familiarity with torpedo or underwater weapon systems and the US Navy submarine fleet.
• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

• Windchill EPDM experience
Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
