Full Job Description
The Staff Machine Learning Software Engineer contributes to and executes against a predefined AI/ML engineering direction for a domain or product area, applying algorithm and modeling expertise to real-time signal and image processing systems built around agentic tools and approaches. You will bring deep technical depth to implementation, drives adoption of agentic machine learning engineering practices within their area of ownership, and serves as a technical resource for algorithm and modeling questions within the team.

  • Execute against a defined AI/ML engineering direction for a domain or product area, applying agentic tools as the primary methodology for signal processing and modeling work.
  • Serve as a technical resource for algorithm, modeling, and implementation questions within the team.
  • Drive adoption of agentic machine learning engineering practices, including agent orchestration and oversight, within their area of ownership.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to their technical growth in signal processing and machine learning.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align research and engineering priorities with product needs.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: 7-10 years of experience in machine learning, signal processing, or a related quantitative field, including deep hands-on execution within a domain or product area, and early, hands-on adoption of agentic or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Deep expertise in statistical modeling, signal processing, and real-time image analysis, including TensorFlow/PyTorch, filter design, and model validation techniques.
  • Proficiency directing AI-assisted development tools within the personal engineering workflow, including orchestrating multi-step agent workflows to accelerate delivery.
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management, partnering with product and engineering leadership to align research and engineering priorities.
  • Preferred: Experience in the clinical diagnostics or life sciences industry, building AI-enabled products and multi-omics capable machine learning systems (e.g., genomics, proteomics) within a regulated environment.

Location: This position must be based in Irvine, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $157,400 to $216,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
