Responsibilities

Full Job Description
We are looking for a Staff Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) Engineering Professional to join our team. The goal of an FTI Systems Engineering Professional at Wisk will focus on design implementation, integration , configuration management, calibration, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance of the flight test instrumentation systems. You will be part of the Flight test instrumentation team that is developing a state of the art instrumentation system that will support the Gen 6 eVTOL flight test program. This is an onsite work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Hollister office 5 days per week and will require travel as needed to support the flight test instrumentation needs. In this role you will • Contribute to instrumentation requirement development, architecture design, testing and maintenance of the flight test instrumentation. • Provide inputs in the design and development of FTI components. • Support flight operations ensuring readiness of the FTI system for flight test. • Manage and maintain configuration control of FTI equipment for each aircraft and execute changes as needed. • Support development of software tools as required for deployment, analysis and configuration management. What you will do: • As part of the Aircraft integration organization, and deployed in the Flight test instrumentation team you will act as a FTI Engineer helping develop the flight test instrumentation needs for a novel type of aircraft targeting the autonomous UAM market • You will take part in designing and reviewing FTI components and installation drawings. • You will support the Flight test needs according to the test requirements and maintain configuration of the FTI equipment onboard the aircraft for testing activities. • You will help support trouble shooting activities related to data acquisition systems and other issues related to instrumentations. • You will help coordinate the installation of FTI equipment to the aircraft and support write and execute ATS, ATP,SDD as required for the FTI team. • In some areas, you will be working closely with different IPTs and flight operations teams to ensure proper requirements and data capture. • You will plan and execute calibration activities and maintenance activities related to all FTI equipment . Requirements • This position requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. • At least 8 years of experience in the aerospace industry, directly or indirectly related to flight test instrumentation. • Proven hands-on experience with complex aircraft system design and configuration management. • Deep and applied knowledge of data acquisition systems and various sensors used for flight testing (e.g., Accelerometers, pressure transducers, RVDT, string pots, etc.). • Understanding of various IRIG protocols (CH10, CH7, CH4) and serial communication standards. • Experience utilizing tools such as Wireshark, Safran Ez software, MATLAB, and Git/GitLab (including SourceTree). • Ability to travel as necessary to support various testing activities.. Job Type: Full-time Pay range the company expects to pay: $161,000 - $201,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
