As a **Senior Staff Test Engineer**, you will serve as a principal technical authority and visionary within the test development organization. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role involves defining long-term ATE roadmaps, architecting scalable hardware/software testing platforms, and leading cross-functional collaborations across Product, Quality, Design, and Validation engineering. You will be responsible for driving test strategy from initial product definition through global production release, ensuring our high-performance AI power solutions meet world-class quality and reliability standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Strategic Test Roadmaps:** Define and execute the technical strategy for next-generation ATE test solutions to support critical NPI, quality, and capability initiatives.
- **Architectural & Platforms Leadership:** Design, implement, and govern standardized baseline software frameworks and advanced hardware architectures to scale capability and efficiency across the global test organization.
- **Comprehensive Quality Planning:** Lead organizational quality planning, executing rigorous hardware/software architectural reviews, and establishing design-for-test (DFT) guidelines for complex multi-die and power module products.
- **Product Lifecycle Ownership:** Spearhead product qualification, characterization, and cross-platform correlation strategies for cutting-edge power delivery technologies.
- **Cross-Functional & Operations Sync:** Partner with senior leadership in Product Engineering, Design, and Operations to orchestrate seamless, zero-friction production ramps and global manufacturing releases.
- **Sustaining Execution & Yield Optimization:** Provide executive-level technical oversight for complex production yield optimization, cost reduction, and high-priority customer return resolution strategies.
- **Technical Mentorship & Governance:** Serve as a primary mentor to Staff, Senior, and Junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and rigorous engineering practices.
- **Ecosystem & Vendor Management:** Strategically manage 3rd party relationships, foundry partnerships, and OSAT technical teams to ensure alignment with Renesas' roadmap and delivery milestones.
**Qualifications**
- **Education & Experience:** Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with **10+ years** of progressive semiconductor experience (or Master's/Ph.D. with 8+ years), with a proven track record operating at a Staff or Senior Staff level.
- **ATE Mastery:****10+ years** of extensive experience architecting and developing automated test solutions on high-end ATE platforms, with deep expertise in platforms like the **Advantest V93K**, **COHU Diamondx**, SPEA DOT800, or ETS364.
- **Mixed-Signal & Power Expertise:****8+ years** of hands-on experience in ATE test development for complex analog, digital, high-power, and mixed-signal ICs. Direct experience with high-performance digital power or multi-die modules is highly desirable.
- **Advanced Programming & Automation:** Expert proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with a demonstrated history of architecting production-grade, reusable code templates, test APIs, and automation libraries.
- **Bench & Characterization Proficiency:** Extensive experience validating, debugging, and collecting characterization data on IC chips or power circuits using advanced lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Source Measure Units).
- **Hardware Design Excellence:** Proficient in high-performance ATE loadboard/probe card PCB layout design, utilizing advanced techniques for parasitic reduction, signal integrity, and high-current power delivery.
- **Communication & Influence:** Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to influence cross-functional roadmaps and drive success with external technical teams.
- **Travel:** Ability to travel 0-10% to support global manufacturing and vendor sites.
**Additional Information**
The expected annual pay range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities and commission pay. Please note that the final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
