RF and mmWave Hardware Staff Electrical Engineer is part of the Test Engineering team responsible for developing test solutions for high-volume manufacturing of Skyworks RFICs, modules, and WLCSP products. The role focuses on test hardware development, including procurement and optimization of PCBs, probe cards, contactors, and test fixtures used in production testing.

The engineer works closely with ATE Test Engineers, Product Engineers, Design Engineers, and Program Managers to ensure reliable and efficient testing of RF and mmWave products. The position requires strong problem-solving abilities, process ownership, and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of next-generation RF products through robust test strategies and seamless deployment to global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

Develop and support test solutions for high-volume production manufacturing.Procure and manage test hardware, including:
  • Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
  • Probe Cards
  • Test Contactors for WLCSP's, Flip Chip and QFN products.

Design, develop, evaluate, and optimize test fixtures.Troubleshoot and solve complex test hardware issues.Drive continuous improvement of test processes and hardware performance.Collaborate with:

  • Program Managers

Support RF and mmWave product testing and manufacturing readiness.

Design, model, simulate and measure test vehicles for high-volume production manufacturing. Candidate will work closely with our vendors to develop and procure the test hardware in a timely manner.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in RF component testing.
  • Experience in RF circuit design up to 6 GHz.
  • Proficiency with RF laboratory equipment:
    • Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
    • Spectrum Analyzer
    • Signal Generator
    • RF Power Meter
    • DC Power Supply
    • Oscilloscope
  • Knowledge of RF measurement techniques:
    • Error Vector Magnitude (EVM)
    • Load Pull
    • S-Parameters
  • Strong communication skills.


Desired Experience and Skills

  • RF and Millimeter-wave (mmWave) product and test knowledge.
  • Experience with RF modeling tools:
    • ADS (Advanced Design System)
    • HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator)
  • Experience with PCB layout software.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and proactive process ownership.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems , Advantest 93000, Cohu Red Dragon and NI STS Machine is a definitely a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI,Linux OS, C++,C#, Labview, Test Stand and Java is preferable.


The typical total targeted cash range for this role is currently CAD $131,670 - $171,325 per year. Starting compensation will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
