Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer in Washington to support the design and delivery of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects across the U.S.

This is an opportunity to build technical depth in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to coordinated design solutions that improve communities nationwide.

What You'll Do

As a Staff Electrical Engineer, you'll support electrical design, technical documentation, interdisciplinary coordination, and project delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Design electrical systems: Develop electrical, instrumentation, and control system designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical deliverables: Support construction drawings, technical specifications, reports, and electrical design documentation using Revit, CAD, and/or BIM software.
  • Perform engineering calculations: Complete calculations such as voltage drop, load studies, conduit and cable sizing, and standby generator sizing.
  • Coordinate across disciplines: Collaborate with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and senior engineers to develop integrated project solutions.
  • Support project development: Contribute to project planning, research, design development, and coordination across multiple design stages.
  • Apply engineering standards: Work in alignment with Kennedy Jenks' quality, safety, and engineering practices.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience designing power and power distribution systems, preferably for water, wastewater, industrial waste, or related infrastructure facilities.
  • Technical knowledge: Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, power distribution systems including 120/208V and 277/480V, standby generator sizing, and CSI specifications.
  • Licenses and professional registrations: EIT registration required in Washington; PE preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $105,000 and $150,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
