Staff Accountant? Rockville, MD (Fully Onsite)
? Base Salary: $80,000-$90,000, plus an additional $10,000-$15,000 Annual Bonus
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Staff Accountant to join a growing commercial safety organization in the Rockville, MD area. This fully onsite role will support daily accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, job costing, and compliance efforts while partnering with operations teams to ensure financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Support job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue tracking for service and project work
- Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and audit support documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and tax reporting requirements
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve job cost discrepancies and improve processes
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally within service, construction, or project-based environments
- Knowledge of GAAP and strong Excel skills
- Experience with job costing, WIP, or ERP/accounting systems is a plus
