Staff AccountantDepartment: Finance and Accounting

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 / hour
DescriptionThe Staff Accountant records financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. This role supports ERP-driven accounting processes to maintain data accuracy, support operational reporting, and improve financial workflows under the guidance and review of senior accounting staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations - Guide, review, and provide backup support for daily AR and AP transactions in compliance with GAAP.
- Produce daily sales and cash reports.
- Maintain fixed asset records and transactions within the ERP system.
- Support accurate and timely accounting operations while maintaining strong data integrity across financial systems and workflows.
- Identify and support improvements to AR, AP, and related accounting processes and procedures.
Month-end Process - Support the monthly closing process in accordance with established calendars and timelines.
- Ensure timely closing of functional modules (AR, AP, Production, Inventory, etc.).
- Reconcile AR, AP, and Inventory subledgers to the GL.
- Reconcile bank statements and cash transactions.
- Prepare monthly schedules (amortization, accruals, etc.).
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Produce preliminary balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
Financial Reporting and Analysis - Update and maintain annual budgets and quarterly forecasts utilizing ERP systems and financial reporting data.
- Prepare costing analysis in support of manufacturing operations.
- Work with inventory control to improve inventory management, ensure accuracy and minimize waste.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior accounting staff.
Technical Accounting - Support onboarding and knowledge sharing related to accounting procedures.
- Support the annual audit process.
Internal Controls and Risk Management - Strive to represent corporate values and serve as a role model.
- Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and company policies.
Competencies and Skill RequirementsEducation and Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Experience in manufacturing is preferred. Candidates with exposure to manufacturing, logistics, construction, or other fast-paced operational environments are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of GAAP principles.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding and oversight of AR and AP processes.
- Microsoft Business Central ERP system experience is a plus.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
