Full Job Description
Soni is seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to join our growing retail accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of GAAP, retail operations, and inventory accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

  • Analyze financial statements and identify trends or variances.

  • Assist in preparation of internal and external financial reports.

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions across multiple retail locations.

  • Partner with operations, inventory, and purchasing departments to resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure sales, use tax, and other compliance requirements are met for retail operations.

  • Review and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.

  • Mentor junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:

  • Experience with POS systems and sales reconciliation.

  • Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience.

  • Experience in ERP implementation or system upgrades is a plus.

    Compensation: $75,000-$90,000
    Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
