Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Staff  Accountant at our manufacturing plant in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for month-end close activities, including data analysis that is used in reports to management. This role will have direct interaction with business segment finance teams and corporate departments. The individual will be placed in a collaborative environment to drive continuous improvements in our financial close process, with a focus on harmonization efforts around both system- and people-driven processes.

Projects you may be asked to participate in include, but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborate on financial and strategic projects to drive continuous improvements and growth opportunities for our internal and external stakeholders, such as our ongoing SAP S/4 implementation.
  • Interpret and point out trends or deviations from standards and project data into the future.
  • Identify and execute automation initiatives to reduce manual entries.
  • Engage the accounting teams across the organization in standardization efforts around the creation of journal entry and account reconciliation support.
  • Build upon the culture at RCP, focused on the evolution of our people resources and fostering a culture that values teamwork, ethics, and respect for others in our actions and decisions.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, especially for SG&A, prepaids, accruals, and leases.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to recognize unusual trends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to multi-task and work within strict deadline-oriented environment.

Icing on the cake:

  • CPA Certification or another advanced degree.
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems. Ideally experience with both SAP ECC and SAP S/4.
  • Oracle EPM system experience.
