Full Job Description
Codal is searching for an Accountant to manage core accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and support strategic financial decisions across the organization. To ensure success, you should have extensive experience with full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, and process improvement. This role involves maintaining high quality and standards across all financial operations to support Codal's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• General Ledger Management: Own the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead close processes, performing variance analysis, and resolving discrepancies to deliver clean, reliable financials.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with leadership to develop budgets, financial plans, and ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision-making.
• Process Improvement: Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
• Collaboration and Vendor Management: Collaborate globally with our outside financial team.
Ideal Candidate Skills
• Experience: 3+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with increasing responsibility
• Industry Experience: Prior experience working in an agency or professional services environment
• Technical Knowledge: Strong command of GAAP and accounting best practices; experience with project-based accounting or revenue recognition
• Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, ERP platforms Sage, Brex, and Bill.com; advanced Excel skills.
• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to identify financial trends, resolve discrepancies, and translate data into actionable insights.
• Standards: Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across all deliverables.
• Compliance & Tax: Awareness of federal, state, and local tax regulations; assist with tax preparation, filings, and audit support.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

We continually review ranges to address skills, experience and markets. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include but aren't limited to, a candidate's experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position
Pay range
$75,000-$105,000 USD
