General Function:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the development of policies and procedures and processing of journal entries and accruals for a remote business unit (BU). This will include working to automate, streamline and eliminate journal entries as well as business unit balance sheet oversight including the preparation of monthly balance sheet reviews and reconciliations. This position will need to acquire a basic understanding of the business activities for all Essilor"s business units, and a thorough understanding of the underlying accounting systems utilized. Proven leadership skills and experience in process improvement activities are valued. This position will have significant interface with all levels of employees within the finance team, business unit operations personnel and the IT team.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Full Charge Bookkeeping - including A/R and A/P activities
* Assist with month-end close.
* Prepare journal entries for review
* Performs monthly GL and account reconciliation
* Coordinate across multiple departments
* Reconciling balance sheet, and creating reports
* Perform bank reconciliations
* Posting monthly accrual journal entries and depreciation
* Financial reporting, preparing supporting schedules, and analyzing data

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS in Accounting
* Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience
* Oracle and SAP applications experiences is a plus
* Excellent personal computer skills - spreadsheet/reporting
* Highly Self-motivated, Self-Directed, fast learner, and works independently with minimal supervision required
* Demonstrated ability to drive, implement change, and able to learn the business in a short time
* Team player - successful in a cross functional, fast pace environment, and must be able to work with people within and outside of the finance department
* Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation

Top 3-5 mandatory and/or minimum requirements: GL Accounting Experience, JE and Recon, Excellent Excel
Top 3-5 desirable attributes/qualifications? Oracle and SAP Experience, Strong Communication Skills, Organization Skills
Required levels/ Years of Experience education - discuss whether there is flexibility: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, 3 years of Accounting Experience (flexible)
