About the Job

About the Role:

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SSHO The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety practices in accordance with OSHA regulations and client standards.

We are looking for a self-directed, detail-oriented safety professional with excellent communication and computer skills who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven construction environment.

Job Description:

  • Develop improve the technical facilitation of the Project EH&S Program.
  • Provide the necessary project management, supervisory or craft training, on-boarding/new hire safety orientation, or other job/task-specific EH&S related training, as necessary to ensure compliance with the site EH&S Program requirements, against a given contractor scope of work.
  • Coordinate and conduct routine/scheduled safety meetings, which include relevant site/facility topical information, comprehensive agendas, captured minutes/actions, and accurate attendance records.
  • Conduct daily informal site EH&S general site assessments or specific formal audit-type inspections while capturing and maintaining the appropriate written finding and close-out documentation.
  • Conduct site safety/health, property or process loss, Root-Cause style investigations along with the necessary customer or company required reports.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30, 500/510, 501/511 Construction/General Industry Certifications.
  • BCSP Certifications - CHST, SSHO, or other mid-level safety certifications, (NCCER Field Safety/Safety Technology Training Certifications - CSSS, CSST, CSSM).
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, common data/safety-based software such as Procore, Hammertech, etc.
  • 10 or more years of direct field safety experience.
