Workday Solutions ArchitectPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Workday Solutions Architect to lead the technical design, configuration, and integration strategy for a large enterprise Workday environment. This individual will serve as the technical expert responsible for designing scalable solutions across Human Capital Management, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and related business functions while ensuring long-term platform stability and maintainability.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and technical stakeholders, this role translates business objectives into efficient Workday configurations, determines the appropriate use of native functionality versus integrations, and establishes architectural standards that support future growth.
The ideal candidate combines deep Workday configuration expertise with strong integration experience and the ability to guide solution design across multiple functional areas.
Primary Responsibilities- Design and configure enterprise Workday solutions supporting Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and Advanced Compensation.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable Workday configurations using Business Processes, condition rules, calculated fields, security, and reporting.
- Architect and maintain complex Workday integrations utilizing:
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
- Core Connectors
- Workday Studio
- Workday REST and SOAP APIs
- Determine when native configuration, integration development, or API-based solutions provide the most sustainable approach.
- Design secure integration patterns utilizing OAuth 2.0, SAML, and other enterprise authentication methods.
- Develop XML and XSLT transformations supporting inbound and outbound integrations.
- Build advanced custom reports, dashboards, composite reports, and analytics to support operational and executive decision making.
- Configure and maintain Workday security groups, domain security policies, and role-based access controls.
- Troubleshoot complex configuration, reporting, and integration issues while performing root cause analysis.
- Evaluate the impact of Workday feature releases and recommend required changes before production deployment.
- Establish technical standards and best practices governing Workday configuration, reporting, integrations, and overall platform design.
- Review technical designs produced by internal teams and implementation partners to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on Workday experience designing enterprise solutions across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise architecture standards and governing technical solution design across multiple implementation teams.
- Proven success designing enterprise integrations using modern API, middleware, or event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of Workday platform capabilities, configuration dependencies, and system limitations.
- Experience leading complex solution design discussions with both business and technical stakeholders.

- Experience supporting highly regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, or other compliance-driven organizations.
- Exposure to emerging AI capabilities including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), enterprise LLM integrations, or agent-based automation.
- Industry certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- TOGAF
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect
- Comparable enterprise architecture certifications
