Sr Whey Production ManagerYou will direct and coordinate activities of whey production areas in processing raw materials and manufacturing customer specific products at our Clovis, NM site:
Responsibilities:- Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Compile, store, and retrieve production data.
- Resolve worker grievances or submits unsettle grievances to the Senior Production Manager or Plant Manager for action.
- Assume overall plant responsibilities in the absence of the Whey Plant Manager.
- Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
- Ensure after hours response in the event of plant outage and emergencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
- Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience; dairy industry experience preferred.
- Previous experience supervising and developing direct reports.
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing KPIs and reporting metrics using Excel.
- Familiarity with TPM, Lean, Continuous Improvement, and other operational excellence methodologies.
