DescriptionSr. Video Production SpecialistHighPoint's professionals focus on helping government agencies and companies implement their most critically strategic initiatives. The role of Sr. Video Production Specialist contributes to HighPoint through creating dynamic, "digital-first" video content for the US Department of State. Videos will be shareable via social media, mobile, conferences, and live events. This is a position within a fast-paced environment that includes writing scripts, filming, editing video, and creating engaging graphics to explain and illustrate department policy to diverse foreign and domestic audiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Experience overseeing the work of video producers creating unique, compelling, strategic content for a variety of digital platforms.
- Experience reviewing and shaping (editing) scripts and creative concepts to ensure videos reflect innovative approaches to storytelling and contemporary approaches to digital video content the maximize engagement and grow online audiences.
- Experience liaising with governments/stakeholders who may not know how to best leverage digital video content to reach online audiences.
- Must be able to work with partners across the Department for the purpose of developing strategic video content that advances the Department's messaging and policy priorities.
- Experience identifying opportunities for innovation and experimentation that can help grow and expand the Department's reach across social and digital platforms.
- The ability to exercise strong news and editorial judgement with a high standard for journalistic ethics.
- Experience tracking project output and performance and reporting as needed to Office Leadership.
- Ability to adhere to established SOPs and best practices for media asset management (MAM) systems.
- Ability to provide input and advice on the use of professional video equipment and video production processes.
- Must be available on an ad hoc basis to work weekends and/or beyond core hours.
- As a senior team member helping the less senior staff grow their skills should feel like a natural extension of your role.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:- Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and be an active, enthusiastic part of a creative team.
- Adobe After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop and Da Vinci Resolve.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills for preparing scripts (writing skills are demonstrated in an error-free cover letter, resume, and/or portfolio).
- Knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, economics, foreign policy, and history.
- A nose for news a plus.
- Good independent work skills but also the ability to function as part of a team.
- An online portfolio of skilled work required.
- Experience with professional video equipment up to and including Sony's Cinema Line.
- Demonstrable ability in lighting, color theory and composition.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience.
- Public Trust is required to perform the job.
