Description

The Role

The Transportation Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Transportation Department at our Bronx FDC location. This includes managing shift operations, field execution, fleet and facilities oversight, and process optimization.

This role drives performance across service, cost, and team development while ensuring a consistent, high-quality delivery experience for our customers.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, including dispatch, field execution, and fleet management
  • Manage labor planning, scheduling, and departmental budgets, including overtime control
  • Drive service excellence by improving on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and reducing complaints and credits
  • Lead, coach, and develop transportation teams and administrative staff to achieve high performance
  • Conduct field audits and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Monitor and respond to on-road operations, customer issues, and employee concerns in real time
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
  • Support recruiting efforts, including interviewing and conducting road tests as needed
  • Foster employee engagement, morale, and recognition initiatives within the department
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and the local community
  • Participate in community events and support local marketing initiatives
  • Lead and execute operational projects independently with minimal supervision

Salary

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
