Responsibilities

  • Perform daily trade reconciliations and validate trade modifications and Day One P&L.
  • Validate daily forward price curves and reconcile trading limits.
  • Support the trader checkout process at the end of each day.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Commercial Trading team regarding trade processes and technical issues.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Risk, Accounting, and IT on special trades and new pricing setups.
  • Review trade control reports to ensure adherence to controls and risk policies.
  • Identify improvements for trade control processes and operational efficiency.

Full Job Description
A leading independent power producer in Houston is seeking a Senior Trade Control Analyst to join its Middle Office team. This role serves as a key liaison between Trading, Risk, Accounting, Settlements, and IT, ensuring the integrity of trade capture, controls, and reporting within the commercial trading organization.

NOTE: Candidates must have risk management experience within a power and natural gas trading entity to be considered.



Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily trade reconciliations, including internal risk limits, trade amendments, and Day One P&L validation.
  • Validate daily forward price curves and reconcile exchange and FCM limits.
  • Support the end-of-day trader checkout process.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Commercial Trading team, including trade flow, amendments, and technical issues.
  • Coordinate with Trading, Risk, Accounting, and IT on non-standard trades and new pricing curve setup.
  • Review trade control reports to ensure compliance with trading controls, risk policies, and Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Serve as backup for OTC confirmations and ISO, exchange, and ETRM user access/privileging.
  • Identify opportunities to improve trade control processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting U.S. wholesale power trading operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, identify discrepancies, and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong ETRM experience (Endur is a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliation of large datasets and clear reporting.
  • Experience with VBA, SQL, Python, or similar data analysis/automation tools is a strong plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as the subject matter expert for trade booking and a primary point of contact for Commercial, Settlements, Accounting, and IT.
