Description

Position Summary:

The primary function of this job involves planning, direction and facilitation of repair, replacement, and fabrication of tooling and ancillary press equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance program of facility tooling.
  • Troubleshoot, clean, maintain and repair injection and transfer molds. Performs insert changes as needed. Assemble/Disassemble and final fitting of molds.
  • Machine various mold details using manual mills, surface grinders preferred.
  • Responsible for tool organization including location, tracking, and setting up molds.
  • Participate in weekly tooling status review meetings with In-House Tool Maker team.
  • Responsible for technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate weekly tooling status review meetings with Quadra.
  • Conduct mold inspection and repair as needed.
  • Manage spare part components in inventory system to ensure critical components are available.
  • Contribute to design modifications and improvement efforts on existing equipment to achieve increased efficiency and improve quality.
  • Ability to operator electronic and manual measuring equipment.

Must Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an applicable technical position.
  • Candidate with Journeyman machinist certificate will be considered
  • Injection molding and/or injection press experience preferred as well as proficiency in all aspects of equipment operation for injection mold presses, transfer presses, and all related secondary equipment which includes material pumps, chillers, and temperature control units.
  • Mold building and/or tool maker experience a plus
  • Prior experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

  • Strong math and reasoning skills
  • Experience with common forms of inspection equipment and appreciation of close tolerance manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Salary Range: $37.00 - $48.00 / hour
