Full Job Description
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to build that program. You'll own the mechanisms that turn Kiro Labs from a promising side effort into a durable, scalable incubator: the publishing pipeline, the governance model, the lifecycle, and the metrics. You'll be the connective tissue across the Kiro product team, open source strategy, security, legal, marketing, and customer success - diving deep enough technically to understand what contributors are building, and program-managing well enough to get it shipped and keep the org healthy.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the publishing pipeline end to end - Design and run the intake process that takes a project from proposal to public repo fit review, security review, license and trademark review, and repo creation - and relentlessly drive down time-to-publish.

- Build the governance model - Stand up the review committee, define the fit, quality, and security bar, establish decision rights and response SLAs, and document the entire workflow.

- Manage cross-functional dependencies and unblock contributors - Coordinate across product, open source strategy, security, legal/IP, marketing, and customer success. Own the critical path, clear blockers, and give contributors a single, obvious place to get answers.

- Own project lifecycle and org health - Define and operate the active, maintenance, and archived states, health monitoring, and the sunset process, so Kiro Labs stays a curated set of working tools rather than a graveyard of abandoned repos.

- Define and report on success - Establish the program's KPIs - projects published, external engagement (stars, forks, issues, and PRs from outside Amazon), projects that graduate to broad adoption, time-to-publish, and growth in external awareness of Kiro and report progress, risks, and tradeoffs to senior leadership.

- Scale the operation - Introduce automated quality and health checks, write the SOPs, and reduce manual effort so the program runs on mechanisms

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience developing and implementing KPI goals and strategies based on broader organization goals

- 3+ years of software development experience, or Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent

- Experience running open source or developer community programs, including GitHub organization administration, open source release and compliance processes, and open source licensing
