We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to own the programs that keep that promise: measuring device and partner quality at scale, catching problems before customers feel them, driving the fixes across engineering, data, and partner teams, and building the tools that help developers give customers the best possible experience. Key job responsibilities
Own the end-to-end program plan for Smart Home device quality/reliability and developer tooling, from goals and requirements through launch and ongoing operation.
Drive schedule, and manage scope and risk across cross-functional workstreams spanning software, data engineering, and partner-facing teams, and run the operating cadence that keeps them aligned.
Drive strategic programs across quality, reliability, and tooling, and report progress against launch commitments.
Lead resolution of high-severity device and integration issues end to end, coordinating engineering, customer service, legal, and partner stakeholders through to a customer-safe outcome.
Anticipate cross-team dependencies and bottlenecks, escalate crisply, and make tradeoffs that balance customer experience, business goals, and technical constraints.
Establish and improve program mechanisms, including status reporting, dependency tracking, and go/no-go criteria, that scale as new device categories and partners come on board.
Build and evangelize high leverage AI solutions to problems new and old.
A day in the life
You will start the day checking the health of the programs you own, unblocking dependencies with engineering and data teams, and triaging any new device or integration risks. You will align partner-facing and product teams on upcoming milestones, then run program reviews that turn complex technical status into clear decisions for leadership. You will join standups, negotiate with and support partner teams, and read out to leaders in org-wide reviews. Your narratives will keep senior stakeholders informed, drive cross-team decisions to closure, and improve the mechanisms your programs run on. Your customers rely on their connected homes working as reliably as a utility.

Our immediate team is small with an outsize impact on the Smart Home customer experience. We are responsible for the quality of the overarching Smart Home customer experience. We measure how well devices and partners perform, find the gaps that hurt the customer experience, and drive the work to close them across Amazon and with device makers around the world. We operate like a fast-moving team inside a big company: collaborative, willing to take matters into our own hands, and focused on real customer outcomes over process. Your program work on this team directly shapes how millions of people experience their homes every day.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
