Full Job Description
As a TPM, you will be responsible for ensuring mission success by owning the development and integration of Arlo's software features and technologies. These programs will be diverse in nature and require you to be organized and flexible to adapt to changing situations. On one project, you may be working with executives to clarify how each of the programs are meeting our road map goals through Arlo's core technologies and execution requirements. In another situation, you may be the program leader, crafting a vision for and leading cross functional teams of marketers and various software engineers to transform that vision into a tangible new product/feature. During all this, you must be able to collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders, communicate clear plans to all parties, and lead teams towards success. Success in this position also hinges on systems/engineering experience, or the ability to learn technical concepts, mainly software related, quickly. Digging into the details to understanding system dependencies, technical risks, and the impact of key architectural decisions with the engineering team is a must. You will be expected to utilize your technical capability in conjunction with your program management skills to deliver the best outcome for Arlo and the customer. What you'll do • Ownership: TPMs are owners; we're looking for those who have a natural bias to assume responsibility, a healthy dose of skepticism, and contribute to a culture of performance. Lead the program from start to finish with the product management and engineering teams. Develop the technical path for success, identify engineering needs, and validate the projected product outcome. TPMs are empowered to quickly assume high levels of responsibility and entrust them to actively own their programs and shape their success. • Embed/Engage: Work side-by-side with our cross functional teams to understand their specific mission objectives and represent them as you work to shape execution strategies for products/features that solve smart home security software challenges. Arlo relies on TPMs to understand the lay of the land and bring a perspective that informs the product development process. • Build/Orchestrate: Work with Arlo product management and engineers to build the solution and/or pivot development as needed to meet product/feature requirements. Successfully developing our software products requires collaborating with nearly every internal Arlo team: engineering, product, marketing, finance, and many more. You'll be responsible for ensuring each party is engaged, informed and will therefore become well-versed in what it takes to really bring the best of Arlo to our stakeholders. • Plan: Develop, coordinate, and communicate the path to success with both internal and external stake holders. Partner with functional leads to build execution plans, sprint plans, milestones, and many more. • Grow our business through customer success: In addition to the operational and engineering relationships you own, you will be responsible for meeting commercial targets that drive top line growth. This requires establishing committed and trust-based partnerships with our customer success teams, to not only help them solve their immediate problems, but also to foresee future opportunities where Arlo's technology can make them more effective. Understanding Arlo's value proposition and articulating how we can have an impact on a customer's problem set, from the executive level to the end user, is critical to positioning Arlo for the future. Qualifications • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field and a passion for technology • Minimum 8 years of software development and/or consumer electronics experience, in technical program management and/or engineering • Understanding of comprehensive product development execution and structure • Extremely organized and detail-oriented • Excellent communication skills, can communicate with C-suite • Proficiency in MS Project and/or SmartSheets • Proficiency in Atlassian Jira and Confluence • Can manage dev teams using scrum, kanban or hybrid • 10-20% domestic travel required to Arlo (San Jose, Irvine, Carlsbad) and partner sites • Work in fast paced environment with competing priorities • Manage business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver MVP Nice to have Experience managing programs in following categories • AI/ML • Partner Platforms • Mobile and Web App development • Camera streaming services • Data and Experimentation for Subscription based SaaS business • Beta Testing The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between USD$125,000-170,000/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits. Details of all benefits will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
