Team Overview:

Making a difference is not just about what you do. It is about how you do it. And who you do it with. A career at EDC gives you the chance to help Canadian companies conquer the global marketplace. To do business responsibly. To work shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the brightest, most dedicated professionals in their fields. People like you, who want to make a difference - for companies, for Canada and for each other.

Within EDC, Technical Advisory Services (TAS) is a team of experienced engineering professionals with in-depth technical, industry, and business expertise in a variety of key industries. The team works together in bringing skills and knowledge that combine engineering and project management expertise and commercial discipline to our clients. Together, we assess and help mitigate technical, industry, operational, commercial and managerial risks associated with financial services provided by EDC. This includes due diligence services on technical and commercial feasibility of project and investment proposals. Although not exclusively, a considerable proportion of work is in support of structured and project finance transactions. EDC's Structured and Project Finance group is a significant player in global project and infrastructure finance, having closed over USD 53.3 billion in financings (as of the end of 2025).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Advisor in the TAS team with expertise in one or more of the areas below. Note that in addition to your primary sector(s), you will have opportunities to expand your knowledge base and support your team members in other sectors as required.
• Energy and Energy Transition (incl. Nuclear)
• Infrastructure (project-financed assets)
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Digital Infrastructure (design/development of datacenters, telecom networks, connectivity infrastructure)
• Mining & Metals (preference for critical minerals expertise)
What you will be doing:
  • As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will report to the Managing Principal and deliver in-house consulting services, providing guidance and advice to lending, insurance and equity underwriting groups from deal origination through to signing, monitoring, and asset management. Your work will result in enhanced and better-informed negotiations, structuring and decision making with respect to the financial transactions undertaken by EDC.
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Industry insight leading to the ability to understand and interpret the needs of internal and external clients.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to exercise sound technical and business judgement, often with limited information.
    • Ability to lead challenging or high impact transaction assessments associated with both established and early-stage companies.
    • Ability to address key issues with complex structures that may present challenging circumstances.
    • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines in a multi-project environment.
    • Ability to discern, distill, and concisely and clearly communicate key issues in complex business transactions and provide advice based on client needs.
What we are looking for:
    • University degree in Engineering
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant business experience in technical, consulting, project management or other role relevant to technical due diligence in the sectors specified.
    • Accreditation as a Licensed Professional Engineer, or eligibility for licensure in Canada.
    • Willing and able to travel within Canada and internationally for site visits or meetings, as needed.
What will make you stand out:
  • Private sector experience.
  • External consulting experience (particularly as lender's advisor or owner's engineer)
  • Degree, diploma or training in Business, Finance or related discipline.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French).
Eligibility:

EDC is committed to Fair Employment Practices and preference will be given to a candidate who is able to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents). Candidates must meet the requisite government security screening requirements. The position is open to those who meet all of the essential requirements stated above and whose applications are received by the closing date.

This position is open to individuals who meet all the essential criteria outlined above and submit their applications by the closing date. Ready to make a difference? This is your chance to join a dynamic, growing team and leave your mark on our organization, development finance, and the world.
