Senior Tax Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the TFS Corporate Tax team in the preparation of the tax provision and federal, state, and local income and information tax returns, along with other key tax-related projects.
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the person in this role will support the Tax Department's objective to assess, develop, and document tax positions reported on SEC filings, audited financial statements, and income tax returns. This role offers the opportunity to own meaningful work across the full income tax lifecycle while building exposure to a variety of tax concepts across financial institutions, insurance corporations, banking, and more.
What you'll be doing In this role, you'll contribute to a high-performing tax team that keeps critical reporting, compliance, and planning work moving with accuracy and confidence. You'll have the chance to partner across functions, solve complex issues, and make a direct impact on how Toyota Financial Services manages tax obligations and reporting.
- Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisioning process, including tax packages, true-up calculations, roll-forward schedules, and quarterly financial forecast review.
- Prepare federal, state, franchise, and other tax returns and estimated tax filings accurately and on time in a paperless environment.
- Support tax planning, provision, return, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen team efficiency and compliance.
- Partner with accounting, finance, operations, and external tax advisors to resolve issues and keep work moving forward.
- Research and apply federal, state, and local tax law changes to help protect compliance across the Toyota group of companies.
- Compile and analyze information in response to taxing authority audits, notices, and examination requests.
- Maintain strong supporting documentation and internal review controls to help ensure SOX compliance.
- Contribute to process improvements and technology adoption that improve the way the team works.
- Build knowledge across multiple tax concepts while managing multiple projects and deadlines with care and attention to detail.
What you bring - A Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience supporting corporate tax, income tax compliance, tax provision, or a similar function
- Knowledge of U.S. corporate taxation and accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with tax software and reporting tools such as CorpTax, SAP general ledger, Hyperion Financial Management, SharePoint or other related software/tools
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work.
Added bonus if you have - Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation or an advanced relative degree
- CPA license
- Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or a large public/private industry environment, especially within financial services.
- CorpTax compliance and/or provision experience
- Exposure to tax process improvement or technology-driven efficiency solutions
