Role Summary

In this role, you will join the Energy Management Systems Engineering team at Rivian responsible for HV Energy, LV Energy, Charging, Battery Management, and other features. You will take a hands-on approach to architect, design and implement the systems in the vehicle to deliver features that raise the bar for our customers. You will work with a cross functional team across SW, HW, attributes, data, and user experience to define, decompose, and integrate the energy management system.

Responsibilities

Lead the definition and decomposition of the low voltage system through collaboration with cross functional teams to define user stories, system definition, and functional requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of low voltage power system with a cross functional team from ideation to public release.
  • Support development of vehicle architecture through trade studies, proof of concept, and strategic analysis.
  • Develop and document requirements from a feature level down to functional and component levels for implementation.
  • Develop test requirements for 12V battery and low voltage system characterization to support decomposition of system requirements.
  • Support integration activities of features by participating in board bring up, HIL testing, validation testing, and other critical implementation task to bring features to life.
  • Support cross functional team in issue resolution through data analysis, and hands on testing.
  • Coordinate the system delivery and timing to ensure achievement of requirements and development milestones.
  • Develop a comprehensive DVP&R working with development engineers to formulate, conduct, and capture validation tests at various levels (SIL, HIL, Component, and Vehicle).


Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with the requirement management process of safety critical systems
  • Development and integration experience with embedded systems preferred.
  • Experience with controls validation efforts at different test levels (SIL/HIL/Component/Vehicle) preferred.
  • Experience with LV Systems and LV batteries a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of HV vehicle systems a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Good team player with effective communication skills.
  • Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
