The Work
The selected Systems Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the A&D Requirements team. This role is responsible for developing Systems Engineering products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

-Due to the nature of the role, this is not being offered as a teleworking or hybrid position.
Basic Qualifications
• An active DoD Final Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelors degree in a STEM related field, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree; or no experience required with a related PhD.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, theories and concepts. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
• Able to work under only general direction. Can independently determine and develop approach to solutions where work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Able to contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects where failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
• Able to work with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts and represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues.
• Able to support up to 10% travel
Desired skills
• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
• Systems modeling language behavioral and functional modeling
• Proficient in the usage and application of MATLAB or Python or C++, or similar programming language
• Technical planning experience
• Algorithm definition/development
• Formal requirements testing
• Mechanical or electrical design using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Visio
• Data analysis and automated testing/scripting knowledge
• System analysis and/or integration
• Requirements development and decomposition
• Verification & validation knowledge
• System design, modeling & simulation experience
• Experience using DOORS System Software
• Experience using systems architecture tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
• Ability to interpret system drawings and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of Agile terminology and best practices
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
