Sr. System Administrator (CBB) to work in
Linthicum Heights, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.
Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph
Description:- Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
- Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
- Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
- Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
- Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Apply patches and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot server issues.
- Administer customer accounts
- Deploy monitoring tools.
- Deploy applications and tools.
- Assist with escalated customer tickets.
- Installation and cabling of equipment
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:- Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
- Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
- Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
- Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
- Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:- Syslog/NxLog
- Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
- Scripting experience (Python/Perl)
