Full Job Description
Meet the team:

We are seeking a Software Engineer with 5-8 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for medical device interoperability, with a focus on Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems and Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) / insulin pump hardware.

Where you come in:

This role is responsible for building robust, scalable automation frameworks that validate safe and reliable interaction between CGMs, insulin pumps, device controllers, mobile applications, and supporting backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience with test automation, and exposure to regulated medical or safety-critical systems.
  • You will design and implement automated test frameworks for CGM-AID interoperability verification.
  • You will develop reusable test libraries for device communication, data validation, timing, and fault scenarios.
  • You will automate testing of device-to-device communication, including:
    • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) data exchange
    • Connection lifecycle (pairing, bonding, reconnect, drop/recover)
    • Data loss, latency, and staleness scenarios
  • You will integrate automation with real hardware, simulators, and emulators.
  • You will integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines supporting firmware, mobile, and system-level builds.
  • You will develop tooling to enable repeatable, deterministic testing of distributed medical devices.
  • You will maintain test environments, mocks, and simulators as systems evolve.
  • You will ensure automation supports regulatory-compliant verification evidence.
  • You will produce automation logs, artifacts, and reports suitable for design history files (DHF).
  • You will work closely with verification engineers, firmware developers, systems engineers, and quality teams.
  • You will support root-cause investigations using automated diagnostics and captured data.

What makes you successful:
  • You have experience working with medical devices, wearables, or safety-critical systems.
  • You have exposure to CGM, insulin pumps, or connected health devices.
  • You have experience automating tests involving BLE, serial protocols, or custom device APIs.
  • You have experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • You have understanding of basic medical device regulations or quality systems.
  • You have experience in Test Automation Framework Design
  • You have experience with Python / Java / C++ (or equivalent), familiar with ADB commands
  • You have experience in System & Integration Testing
  • You have strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • You have the ability to work across hardware and software boundaries
