Position Summary

As the Sr. Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing supply chain operations for assigned product lines. Reporting to the Director of Global Planning, you will ensure the effective development and management of Master Schedules while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a passion for continuous improvement, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing and supply chain principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Master Schedule Management: Develop, administer, and maintain valid Master Schedules aligned with production policies and organizational objectives.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline operations and ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
  • Capacity Planning: Identify bottlenecks and work with manufacturing supervision and engineering to address capacity constraints.
  • Inventory Control: Utilize data analytics to manage inventory levels and support decision-making processes.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure material availability and mitigate delays.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with Marketing, Customer Service, and Demand Planning teams to stay updated on sales forecasts, product launches, and backlog changes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and align with organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyze detailed operational reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Special Projects: Lead and assist in miscellaneous projects as assigned to meet business needs.


Required Experience
  • 6-8 years of experience in production planning and inventory control in a world-class manufacturing environment.
  • Additional experience in Purchasing is desirable


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent technical experience may be considered.


Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing process improvements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of world-class manufacturing principles, including MRP, continuous flow manufacturing, and inventory reduction strategies.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
