Sr Supplier Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $99000 - $ 127,000 a year.

*This role requires working on-site M-F at our Los Angeles, CA Facility. Relocation assitance is not available for this role. Only local candidates will be considerd for the role.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:
The Sr Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving supplier improvements in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. The improvements must be consistent with Eaton Aerospace requirements.

In this role, you will:
• Manage supplier nonconformances (MRB, escapes, deviations)
• Drive root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
• Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Support containment planning and risk mitigation
• Track supplier KPIs: Quality (PPM, defect rates), Delivery, Cost of poor quality (COPQ)
• Maintain Approved Supplier Lists (ASL)
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and performance reviews
• Support supplier selection during sourcing and NPI
• Oversee and participate in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goods.
• Evaluate inspection techniques and recommends changes.
• Work with Production, Quality Assurance, Materials and other departments to define quality standards and procedures.
• Review and analyze inspection test results and oversees the disposition of unaccepted items with affected suppliers and companies.
• Analyze supplier performance both in-house on supplier premises as required.
• Apply standard statistical techniques to analyze and evaluate studies.
• Team with suppliers to define and document Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, AIAG Process Control Plans and Inspection plans.
• Negotiate with suppliers to find equitable solutions to problems identified.
• Visit supplier locations to evaluate quality standards and processes.
• Answer technical questions regarding commodity quality, long-term feasibility or quality certifications.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality system surveys.
• Implement and oversee the administration of special programs to recognize and to ensure the use of suppliers who maintain established standards of quality, reliability, and price.
• Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding significant changes.
• Control nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton procedures.
• Flows down of external/internal quality requirements to suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support internal audit requirements in accordance with Eaton procedures.
• Achieve objectives as detailed by Quality Management.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from accredited institution.
• Minimum three (3) years Supplier and/or Quality Engineering experience working with quality systems.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Aerospace and/or Automotive suppliers.
• Experience with using SAP.
• Experience with complex machining suppliers.
• Experience with Special processes suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting).
• Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001:2016.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma/ Lean tools.

Skills:

Position Success Criteria:
• Significant experience with Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Corrective Actions and Nonconforming Material Dispositions, MRB.
• Experience with Dock-to-Stock and Skip-lot Programs.
• Experience with Supplier Improvement Programs, Supplier Quality Plans.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally to supplier sites.
