Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist - IT & Professional Services

Location: Northridge, CA (Hybrid) - 3 days onsite per week/ 2 days remote

MiniMed is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist -IT & Professional Services to support the organization's technology sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and procurement transformation initiatives.

This individual will play a critical role in driving business value through strategic sourcing initiatives, complex RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract execution, and stakeholder partnership across a broad portfolio of technology spend, including software, cloud solutions, infrastructure, hardware, telecommunications, digital solutions, and technology-related professional services.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that requires a sourcing professional who can independently lead complex initiatives while effectively balancing a significant volume of daily sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and stakeholder support activities. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the Senior Sourcing Managers and business leaders, helping to execute category strategies, support organizational priorities, and drive procurement excellence.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong business acumen, exercises sound judgment, and can seamlessly shift between strategic projects and urgent operational needs while maintaining exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives for software, cloud solutions (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), infrastructure, hardware, telecommunications, digital solutions, and technology-related professional services.
  • Manage complex RFP, RFQ, and supplier selection processes, driving value, cost optimization, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts, statements of work, amendments, renewals, and other commercial agreements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by providing market intelligence, supplier recommendations, pricing benchmarks, and commercial contracting guidance.
  • Independently manage a high volume of sourcing projects, contract negotiations, supplier engagements, and business requests while supporting Senior Sourcing Managers in executing category strategies and procurement objectives.
  • Balance strategic, high-priority initiatives with day-to-day operational sourcing and contracting activities while meeting aggressive timelines and evolving business needs.
  • Support TSA exit initiatives by identifying, sourcing, negotiating, and onboarding replacement suppliers, technologies, and services required to support MiniMed's standalone operating model.
  • Lead sourcing and contracting activities associated with TSA transitions, ensuring continuity of service, effective risk management, and timely execution of replacement agreements.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, PMO, Quality, and business stakeholders to support contract lifecycle management and supplier onboarding.
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with applicable regulatory, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Proactively manage supplier performance, contract renewals, commercial risk assessments, and business continuity considerations.
  • Monitor technology trends, market conditions, supplier innovations, and emerging solutions to identify opportunities for business value creation.
  • Support procurement process improvements, governance initiatives, and procurement transformation programs.
  • Contribute to category planning, supplier relationship management, and long-term sourcing strategies.


Required Qualifications:

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, technology contracting, or supplier management.
  • Proven experience sourcing software, cloud solutions, infrastructure, telecommunications, hardware, and technology-related professional services.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex negotiations and delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and business value.
  • Strong understanding of technology markets, supplier pricing models, software licensing structures, and commercial contracting practices.
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully handle a substantial workload while maintaining responsiveness, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and effectively prioritize competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work onsite in Northridge, California, three days per week.


Nice to have
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting TSA transitions, carve-outs, spin-offs, mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale business transformations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in sourcing and contract management tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP).
  • Experience with digital sourcing platforms or analytics tools
  • Global sourcing and supplier management experience

Benefits & Compensation

MiniMed offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$75,000.00 - $127,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $75,000.00 - $101,000.00 USD.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
