General Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking technologist to serve as a Product Owner for Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) platforms within Qualcomm's Engineering organization. This strategic role will drive the transformation of design collaboration tools and processes, supporting Qualcomm's next-generation engineering innovations across global teams.

As a key member of the Global Engineering Services team, you will lead initiatives that modernize and unify engineering tools. You will define product roadmaps, oversee execution, and collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise goals. This individual will play a pivotal role in migration to Atlassian Cloud, rollout and adoption of Atlassian Intelligence/Rovo AI and Atlassian Analytics capabilities. This role also plays a critical part in M&A integration efforts, ensuring seamless transitions and tool migrations.

This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Key Responsibilities
  • Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) experience is a MUST!
  • Define and manage the product roadmap, backlog, vendor relationships, feature adoption and implementation strategy for Atlassian tools.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Evaluate current systems architecture and recommend scalable, cost-effective improvements.
  • Lead modernization efforts for engineering tools, aligning with industry trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize initiatives, foster collaboration between departments and drive initiatives to completion through accountability
  • Support M&A integration activities, including tool transition planning and execution.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, playbooks, and knowledge assets to promote best practices and consistent usage of agile tooling across the organization.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product development progress and technical challenges.
  • Research and propose emerging technologies to enhance engineering workflows.
  • Experience identifying Roadblocks and working through challenges
  • Establish standards and best practices for AI, analytics, and automation workflows.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of IT experience with a strong background in enterprise-scale system implementations.
  • Proven expertise in administering Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) and engineering lifecycle management tools.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing Atlassian Enterprise applications - both on-prem and Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and architectural design skills.
  • Possesses excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes and business practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, globally distributed teams.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, integration, and release processes in engineering environments.
  • Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certifications such as "Jira Administrator for Cloud" and/or "Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin" is preferred.
  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.


Minimum Qualifications:
• 7+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
9+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in IT-related field.
• 3+ years in a leadership role in projects/programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees troubleshooting process, serves as a point of contact for complex issues, and monitors SLAs.
• Serves as a technical lead on multiple large projects/systems, assigns work to a project team, and works on more advanced tasks to complete a project.
• Drives technical conversations to ensure the right path is followed to project completion.
• Communicates within and outside of project team to resolve conflicts in implementation schedules, design challenges, and other complexities.
• Makes recommendations to IT and Business Unit Management on system or application upgrades, including a cost analysis of alternatives based on capacity planning activities.
• Monitors and analyzes overall availability and performance of computer operating systems and/or software applications to ensure customers can access necessary systems and/or applications, and develops KPIs and compares results to set KPIs.
• Collaborates with business partners to identify system solutions or other complex technical information.
• Collaborates with Business Unit Management to understand business needs, and strategizes and/or recommends IT solutions to address them.
• Networks with colleagues across the organization to gain insights, ideas, and connections.
• Manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for large and/or multiple projects, and makes decisions that address significant issues.
• Works directly with Business Unit Management to ensure new systems and/or applications operate according to user requirement specifications.
• Documents processes for upcoming updates in technology (e.g., design, architecture).
• Presents Business Unit IT needs and requirements to IT Management and staff.
• Gathers and synthesizes a series of technical issues that affect customers, projects, or other areas of an overall system into an appropriate document and provides recommendations to senior leadership.
• Collaborates with business partners and decides which test or prototype environments to evaluate, follows industry trends, and presents results to senior leadership.
• Re-scopes projects based on discussions with business partners, identifies resources, delegates work, and reviews the work of team members in order to address changing timelines or priorities.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$141,600.00 - $212,400.00
