Here's the Gist:- Help develop, own and sustain the Dry Etch process design and related manufacturing processes in coordination with process development and manufacturing partners. You will ensure the process has high process capability and designed for High Volume Semiconductor manufacturing. This will be a Monday-Friday position.
The Day-to-Day:- Own and sustain the Dry Etch process area or a part thereof along with other department engineers and technicians as part of a 24*7 High Volume Silicon Carbide Wafer Fab. Respond to any process deviations in a timely and systematic manner. Document findings and present them succinctly to a wide-ranging audience.
- Perform process and capability studies to ensure that key parameters are identified, monitored, and controlled.
- Own efforts to make the process Best in Class for performance and yield. Suggest and drive potential process/chemistries and equipment changes/upgrades to improve process performance.
- Ensure work instructions and Out of Control Action Plans are up to date and area personnel are trained and certified to safely operate the tools.
- Analyze data using sound statistical methodology (SPC) to drive process, efficiency, and quality improvements
- Establish relationships across various departments to drive cohesive learning and cross functional problem solving
- Monitor and analyze etch processes to ensure consistency and quality in production, making adjustments as necessary
- Collaborate with maintenance and equipment engineering to drive tool/chamber matching initiatives and develop enhanced tool health monitoring techniques using fault detection and classification (FDC)
- Conduct root cause analysis of process discrepancies and implement effective corrective actions
- Present technical data and project updates to peers and management in both casual and formal environment
- Exhibit strong communication skills to ensure crisp execution on projects with high efficiency and quality
- Be technical lead in process area and train, coach and mentor developing engineers
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):- BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in a semiconductor environment, specifically within dielectric etch and/or metal etch. Experience with 200mm Applied Materials platform is a plus!
- Understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment in Fabrication
- Proficient in technical writing and presentations

The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual's job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
Compensation Range:
$123,000.00 - $169,000.00
