Full Job Description
This role is housed in CIBCs Loan Closing Team, and is reserved for individuals performing at a Senior Loan Coordinator level. The Loan Coordinator is responsible for receipt, review and approval of Commercial and Commercial Real Estate loan documentation and due diligence, ensuring each transaction is in compliance with Bank Policies and Guidelines and Federal and State Regulations. The Senior Loan Coordinator is generally a subject matter expert; available for consultation. The individual may have deep knowledge of niche loan products, and may review more complex transactions. The individual should demonstrate a commitment to identifying and solutioning issues, as well as assuming additional tasks as assigned by the Loan Closing Team Lead, such as pipeline maintenance, project participation or acting as the Loan Closing Team Lead's delegate. What You'll Be Doing
  • Ensure that the proposed transaction is in compliance with Bank Policies and Guidelines and Federal and State Regulations.
  • Responsible for the receipt, review and approval of Commercial and Commercial Real Estate loan documentation, which may be either attorney-prepared or documented in-house via LaserPro, relative to conformity with the approved Loan Presentation.
  • Ensure loan documentation and closing deliverables have been received, or otherwise waived prior to the loan funding and booking processes.
  • Coordinate with Line of Business Relationship Manager and Portfolio Coordinator, Loan Operations, Business Support Units, and Title Companies. May also require coordination with Outside Counsel, Syndications and Administrative Agents.
  • Board and track loan document exceptions to ensure that liens are properly perfected and all necessary documents are properly recorded and delivered to the Bank in a timely manner.
  • This position is part of the centralized Loan Operations Closing Team, reporting to the Loan Closing Team Lead.

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years' related experience; Loan Closing experience (or similar) in a Bank or Financial Institution environment is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills (both written and verbal) required
  • Commercial loan documentation and product knowledge required
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment required
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft 365 productivity software required
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively balance excellent client service and risk management
  • Knowledge of CIBC's loan systems, FIS, ACBS, PCFS, Aspire, an asset

This role has an expected salary range of $115,000 - $125,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
