Job Overview
AT&T is seeking a Sr. Specialist Member of Technical Staff to lead engineering delivery across critical Mobility Core network functions, with a strong focus on NEF (Network Exposure Function) and virtual Active Charge (vAC - purpose specific Diameter Routing Agent) platform.
What you'll do:
- Drive design, implementation, and validation of cloud-native network solutions
- Leverage AI and automation to improve testing, troubleshooting, and system performance
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, and vendor teams to ensure reliable and scalable 5G Core deployments
You will play a key role in accelerating certification cycles, enhancing observability, and enabling modern service exposure capabilities across the Mobility Core.
- Own engineering delivery for NEF, vAC, and cross-platform support (PCF, BSF, PCRF, PAS)
- Understand design and troubleshoot HTTP/REST and Diameter signaling flows, including end-to-end call flows and policy interactions
- Build and operate Azure Operator Nexus (AON) lab environments for validation and issue reproduction
- Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub for provisioning, upgrades, testing, and rollback
- Drive AI-assisted test automation frameworks to accelerate certification and improve issue detection
- Perform root cause analysis using logs, KPIs, and packet-level diagnostics across network functions and infrastructure
- Create and maintain runbooks, lab guides, test plans, and release documentation
What You’ll Need
- Strong experience in 5G Core / Mobility Core network functions
- Expertise in CNF/Kubernetes-based deployments and cloud-native platforms
- Solid knowledge of Linux, including system operations, troubleshooting, and performance analysis
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure Operator Nexus (or equivalent cloud platforms)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
- Monitoring & observability tools
- Proficiency in VS Code and modern development workflows, including debugging, extensions, and Git integration
- Experience with GitHub, including source control, branching, pull requests, and pipeline integration
- Familiarity with agentic AI models and frameworks to enable AI-driven coding, automation, testing, and intelligent troubleshooting
- Proficiency in network protocols (HTTP/REST, Diameter)
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, vendors)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability and bias toward execution

Our Sr Specialist Member of Technical Staff, earns between $128,100-$192,100 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
