JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sr. Specialist, Global Brand & Channel Marketing - Electrophysiology

The Opportunity

In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber Marketing Communications Sr. Specialist who will be responsible for executing campaigns across multiple channels and geographies to enable sales and build the Abbott Brand. This role's success is built upon the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the business, product, customer, distribution channels, and competitors while applying their perspective and expertise in marketing communications to execute global plans.

This position is located in Austin, TX.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and execute measurable, multi-channel communications strategies and campaigns to support the commercialization of solutions globally.
  • Execute campaigns Globally, as well as in specific geographies, such as the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding about the nuances of different global geographies and selling divisions to ensure communications campaigns enable the sales organizations.
  • Develop creative brief with marketing counterpart(s) to help support project business case.
  • Produce communications materials using established department procedures and tools.
  • Lead and, at times, support global product positioning, messaging and creative development working with manager.
  • Lead global congress communications initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of the communications annual operating plan and budget plan.
  • Understand project budgets and propose cost-saving measures where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with peers in Marketing, Shared Services, Public Relations, Creative and Internal Communications to align on product launches, campaigns, process, strategies, best practices and efficiencies.
  • Manage special projects such as monthly report.
  • Manages SOWs for the team.
  • Partner and collaborate with outside agencies/vendors to ensure initiatives meet expectations.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' professional experience in marketing communications, advertising or another similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Excellent proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Excellent use of MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel software.
  • Experience working with PC and Apple iPad.
  • Medical Device Industry or another regulated industry experience preferred.
