The ideal Sr Space Systems Engineer SME possesses deep experience in space system architecture, mission design, and end-to-end systems integration for defense or national security space programs. They should be proficient in requirements development, interface control, space-to-ground integration, and have demonstrated success leading multi-mission or proliferated architectures in contested environments.

Essential Job Function
  • System Architecture Development: Lead the design and evolution of end-to-end space system architectures, ensuring alignment with SSC mission objectives and resiliency requirements.
  • Requirements Engineering: Develop, manage, and validate system and subsystem-level requirements, including interface control and performance specifications across space, ground, and comm segments
  • Systems Integration & Test Oversight: Guide integration and test planning across multi-domain components, ensuring seamless interoperability and mission assurance.
  • Technical Trade Studies & Analysis: Conduct and lead engineering analyses and trade studies to inform design decisions, optimize system performance, and support rapid technology insertion.
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Technical Leadership: Serve as a senior technical advisor to program leadership, coordinating across government, contractor, and mission partner teams to resolve complex engineering challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MS with over 10 years of experience
  • Expert in classified space control space, ground, and C2 systems (concepts, development, build, and test)
  • Expert in space control-related technologies, including but not limited to, electromagnetic spectrum, signal processing, comms
  • Expert in developing and managing technical requirements and space system acquisition efforts
  • Highly knowledgeable in electronic attack technologies and system design implementation
  • Highly knowledgeable in classified space control systems engineering processes and procedures, including but not limited to requirements development, configuration control, and government Deficiency Review (DR) board establishment, execution, and DR disposition and management
  • Active TS/SCI


COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE:

STI-TEC adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position. The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

Salary Range $180,000.00 - $195,000.00 Annual Salary
