The Sr. Solution Architect, Enterprise Platforms provides architectural leadership for the enterprise application portfolio supporting administrative and operational functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, Research, and related business services. The role defines target-state architecture, standards, governance processes, and roadmaps that promote security, interoperability, scalability, and operational effectiveness. The incumbent evaluates proposed solutions, integrations, and platform capabilities through the enterprise architectural review process in collaboration with business, technical, security, data governance, and vendor partners. This position serves as a senior technical leader for architecture strategy, modernization planning, risk management, and technical mentorship across multiple enterprise platforms.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Define enterprise platform architecture. Establish target-state architecture, standards, design principles, and roadmaps for enterprise platforms that support administrative and operational business functions. Define guidance that promotes interoperability, scalability, security, sustainability, and alignment with institutional technology strategy.
- Lead architecture governance and review. Lead and participate in the enterprise architectural review process for proposed solutions, integrations, enhancements, and technology investments. Document architecture decisions, standards, risks, exceptions, and recommendations to support governance, traceability, and organizational accountability.
- Translate requirements into solution designs. Convert complex business and operational requirements into sustainable architectural designs and implementation strategies. Guide technical teams through modernization initiatives, platform enhancements, and cross-functional enterprise projects.
- Define integration and data interoperability patterns. Establish architecture patterns for APIs, workflow automation, integrations, event-driven solutions, and cross-platform data exchange. Promote alignment with enterprise data governance, data stewardship, data quality, and information management standards.
- Incorporate security and risk management into architecture. Partner with Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Privacy, Compliance, and Data Governance teams to embed security-by-design principles into solution architecture. Evaluate architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies related to access, integrations, configurations, vendor solutions, and data protection.
- Facilitate collaboration, vendor evaluation, and technical leadership. Lead architecture reviews, technical workshops, design sessions, and enterprise planning activities involving business and technical stakeholders. The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
