What's Exciting About the Role

This Sr. Software Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on our device management system, meaning you will be responsible for managing millions of payment terminals and other devices all around the world. Throughout your work, you will be exposed to on-device software, server-side, and database development. You'll be part of a high-performing and collaborative team driving modernization and innovation. Your work will have a direct impact on millions, helping shape secure, fast, and scalable solutions for our past and future hardware.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a key developer for the on-device and server-side device management software.
• Collaborate with our product and customer success teams to develop and implement new software. This covers requirement gathering, design, implementation, and deployment.
• Provide support for production defects, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact for our customers.
• You'll be responsible for the end-to-end life cycle of your work - including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews, testing automation, and documentation efforts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in software quality and performance.

Skills and Experience We Desire

• Strong Java or Kotlin experience.
• Mastery of software architecture concepts, including micro services, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, scaling, and distributed system consistency.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database.
• Experience with containerized applications.
• Experience in Android, C#, and C++ are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar software development role.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong capacity to jump into new systems and look at what's under the hood.
