PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Lead the development and enhancement of the internal BRD tool to track the end-to-end online feature requirement release process. Responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining an internal platform designed to automate the entire lifecycle of feature requirement releases, including review, approval, validation, and tracking. Support feature studios in building new feature deployment workflows for near real-time feature releases. Collaborate closely with feature development teams to design and implement automated deployment pipelines that support rapid, near real-time feature releases. Manage the online feature lifecycle and feature governance across multiple product lines. Oversee the entire feature lifecycle, from ideation and development to deployment and sunsetting, to ensure consistent governance and compliance with internal standards. Support data collection and analysis for insight reports to evaluate Time-to-Market (TTM) of feature releases. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience with Java and Spring Boot for back-end microservices development, RESTful API design, and deployment (2 years)
2. Experience with Node.js/Express.js for back-end API development, middleware implementation, and data processing services (2 years)
3. Experience with React (TypeScript) for front-end development of scalable, component-based web applications (1 year)
4. Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins) for configuring automated build, test, and deployment workflows (2 years)
5. Experience with Git version control and automation, including branch management, webhook integrations, and pull-request workflows (2 years)
6. Experience with Elasticsearch for distributed search, log aggregation, and query performance optimization (2 years)
7. Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) including schema design, query optimization, and data management (2 years)
8. Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, JUnit, Mockito) for unit testing, integration testing, and service-layer validation (2 years)
9. Experience with GraphQL for API design and optimizing data querying efficiency in full-stack applications (1 year)
10. Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) management, including end-to-end requirement tracking, cross-team collaboration, and release process management (2 years)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $169,576.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
