PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design, develop, test, and release software applications using JavaScript, NodeJS, React, Express or ES6, SQL/No-SQL databases, HTML, CSS frameworks. Participate in design decisions and provide robust scalable design solutions. Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and maintain high coding standards. Provide operational support to ensure the quality of application(s), by setting up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerts. Engage with cross-functional teams, provide design insights, and handle inquiries from stakeholders as part of on-call support rotations. Mentor team members and provide guidelines for coding best practices and newer technologies. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design documents. Migrate old software code to new technologies and software architecture to take advantage of the latest technologies. Build various applications like Web-apps, APIs, and browser extensions. Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards, and improving build and test systems. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field plus five years of experience in the job offered, software engineering, or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Distributed systems and microservices architecture
2. JavaScript, Node.js, Express, HTML and CSS
3. Experience with React.js or Angular
4. Browser extension such as Chrome, Safari or Mobile Safari
5. GraphQL, REST APIs, and supporting network protocols
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $205,621.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
