PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in New York, NY
Job Duties: Develop high-level designs and technical architecture for complex systems, writing, reviewing, and optimizing code to ensure it is scalable and maintainable while adhering to best practices. Define and manage the technology roadmap, prioritize technical debt and feature development, and implement security best practices to protect data and systems. Lead projects and mentor all levels of engineering staff, along with managing relationships with Product, Engineering Operations, and non-technical business and support teams. Identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions, staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends. Build new product services and features on public cloud -AWS, GCP, Azure. Manage software infrastructure as code using Terraform. Conduct security reviews and address vulnerabilities. Lead technical discussions, advocate for best practices, and analyze application performance to improve scalability and quality standards. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Python or equivalence Data Application Software Development - (3 years);
2. Java Application Software Development - (3 years);
3. Monitoring and logging production workloads at scale using AWS and custom scripting - (3 years);
4. AWS Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning using Terraform and Infra-as-code tools - (18 months);
5. Architecting AWS Cloud Solutions for Scale and Availability - (18 months);
6. Technical lead for project execution for multi-year phased project - (18 months);
7. Track record of leading at least 3 experienced engineers on project execution - (18 months);
8. Evolve existing systems to meet new business and product requirements - (2 years);
9. Proven experience collaborating with product, TPM, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions - (3 years);
10. Establish/evolve coding standards and enforce best practices in SDLC - (3 years);
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
New York, NY | Salary: $160,805.00-270,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
